5 Best Prime Video Movies to Watch in December 2025, Ranked by Rotten Tomatoes Rating

Ordinarily, you might have a hard time finding new movies with high Rotten Tomatoes scores of around 90.

But in December, there is an abundance on Prime Video that you can choose from, and one more is on the way.

Rather than letting these flicks go unnoticed, Watch With Us has picked the five best Prime Video movies to watch in December 2025, as ranked by Rotten Tomatoes.

Our selections include two very different sports movies, a rom-com, a zom-com and one of 2025’s best movies.

5. ‘Bull Durham’ (1988)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 89 percent

There are two seminal baseball dramas of the ’80s, and Kevin Costner starred in both of them. Field of Dreams is more famous, but Bull Durham is more down-to-earth and isn’t a fantasy. Costner plays Lawrence “Crash” Davis, a veteran minor league catcher who has spent his entire career trying to get back to the majors after a brief stint there. Near the end of his playing days, Crash is brought in to mentor a pitcher, Ebby Calvin “Nuke” Laloosh (Tim Robbins), whose MLB future is all but assured.

Crash has a lot of reasons to be jealous of Nuke, especially since the younger player has also attracted the romantic attention of an older woman, Annie Savoy (Susan Sarandon). Baseball is like Annie’s religion, and she almost always picks a winner as her lover. But this time, Annie finds herself more drawn to Crash than Nuke, and there are some serious sparks between them.

4. ‘Hoosiers’ (1986)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 92 percent

Hoosiers is only inspired by a true story, rather than a fully historically accurate account of the small Indiana high school basketball team that had a legendary run in the playoffs. Gene Hackman stars as Norman Dale, the new basketball coach of the team following the sudden death of his predecessor. He doesn’t get off to a good start when the team’s best player, Jimmy Chitwood (Maris Valainis), quits the team to mourn his old coach.

Norman clashes with his young players as well as a teacher, Myra Fleener (Barbara Hershey), and the town isn’t quite sure what to make of him. As the coach, Norman also goes out of his way to give the father of one of his players, Wilbur “Shooter” Flatch (Dennis Hopper), a chance to redeem himself in the eyes of his son. But with so much pressure on the team, Norman may not have a job very long.

3. ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ (1994)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 92 percent

Whoever said there’s no truth in advertising never saw Four Weddings and a Funeral. There are exactly four weddings and a single funeral, not necessarily in that order. The first wedding in this rom-com is where Charles (Hugh Grant) meets Carrie (Andie MacDowell), an American woman who came to live and work in England.

Charles and Carrie hit it off, but the timing never seems to be right between them when they meet again at subsequent marriages. Are they destined to always be two ships passing in the night? Or can Charles and Carrie find a way to be together at last? Let’s put it this way: This is one romantic comedy that knows how to make the audience happy.

2. ‘Zombieland’ (2009)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 97 percent

The reasons why Zombieland was so critically acclaimed largely revolve around the performances of the cast, the very amusing humor and the surprising heart of this zombie flick. It’s the end of the world, thanks to a zombie virus ravaging mankind. But Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) has come up with a system of survival and rules to live by.

After Columbus befriends a skilled zombie fighter who calls himself Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), the two men come across two sisters, Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin). Columbus is instantly smitten with Wichita, but the sisters are con artists and it’s hard for these survivors to trust each other even when there’s no one else they can turn to.

1. ‘Sinners’ (2025)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 97 percent

Ryan Coogler‘s Sinners is so good that we won’t be shocked if it picks up a handful of Oscar nominations. This is a horror movie that has some bite, and jokes are in short supply here. Michael B. Jordan leads the cast in a dual role as the Smokestack twins, Elijah “Smoke” Moore and Elias “Stack” Moore. Together, they’ve faced the dangers of World War I and Chicago gangsters. Now, they just want to violate the prohibition laws and run a juke joint in their hometown.

The brothers’ musically gifted cousin, Samuel “Sammie” Moore (Miles Caton), and veteran player Delta Slim (Delroy Lindo) draw a good crowd. Unfortunately, that crowd includes Remmick (Jack O’Connell), a vampire who preys on his victims there. Before long, Smoke and Stack’s customers are rapidly being turned into vampires, and they may be next.

Sinners will stream on Prime Video on December 26.
