Kate Beckinsale and her daughter, Lily Mo Sheen, had a courtside mother-daughter date night over the weekend.
The Underworld actress, 52, and Lily, 26, attended the basketball game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers at Intuit Dome on Saturday, December 20, in Inglewood, California.
Beckinsale wore her hair in a ponytail with a black crown-style headband, a strapless top and dangling bow earrings. Lily wore a leather jacket with her reddish locks down and parted in the middle. Both women rocked full beats.
Lily is Beckinsale’s only daughter, whom she shares with ex Michael Sheen. Lily, like her parents, is also pursuing a career in acting. She appeared in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent alongside Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal in 2022.
“My parents would be happy with me doing anything,” Lily told W Magazine that year, explaining that she initially tried to fight the urge to follow in her family’s career footsteps. “My mom used to always say, ‘Are you sure you don’t want to go to medical school?’ My grandma was an actor and my grandpa was an actor and my mom is an actress. That’s the world that I really understood. But all I want to do is work.”
Of her relationship with her mom, Lily said Beckinsale is “the funniest person I’ve ever known in my life” and let her dabble in anything she wanted while growing up.
“It was really nice to be able to explore my own paths and figure out what I wanted to do,” Lily told W. “If I wanted to try ice skating, they were like, yeah, go for it. It didn’t ever feel like there was something particular that they wanted me to be, but it was cool to be able to examine that and see a bizarro world version of myself where I hadn’t had that experience.”

The family has had a rough few years as they’ve grieved the deaths of Beckinsale’s parents, mom Judy Loe, who passed away in July after battling cancer, and stepfather, Roy Battersby, who died in early 2024. (Her biological father, Richard Beckinsale, died in 1979 of a heart attack at age 31.)
“I don’t want to post this. I am only posting this because I have had to register my mother‘s death certificate and it will soon become public record. She died the night of July 15th in my arms after immeasurable suffering. I have not picked all the best photos, nor the best videos, because I cannot bear to go through my camera roll yet. I deeply apologise to any of her friends who are finding out this way or through the press, but I cannot go through her phone . I am paralysed,” Beckinsale wrote via Instagram of her mother’s death in July.
She continued, “Jude was the compass of my life ,the love of my life, my dearest friend. The vastness and huge heart of this tiny woman has touched so many people who love her dearly. She has been brave in so many ways, forgiving sometimes too much, believing in the ultimate good in people — and the world is so dim without her that it is nearly impossible to bear. Mama, I love you so much. This has been my greatest fear since finding my father dead at five and I am here. Oh my Mama.. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I am so sorry.”
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Beckinsale noted the hard time she’s been experiencing while sharing a bizarre story about Lily’s boyfriend.
“We’ve had a tough couple of years. Both my parents passed away within the last few years,” the actress said on the ABC late-night show, referencing the boyfriend: “And literally the only bright spot in the whole time came from him.”
“Wow, that’s nice,” host Jimmy Kimmel replied. “That’s a nice thing to hear.”
She went on to say that the boyfriend “laid two eggs in a week is what the bright spot was,” as a look of confusion formed on Kimmel’s face.
Without identifying the boyfriend, the Serendipity star went on to recall a moment when he “went to the bathroom and then was very surprised to find that he had laid an egg.” Beckinsale told Kimmel, 58, that “it had a shell and a yolk” and “came out the route that it would come out a hen.”
The host was, understandably, surprised by this revelation, but after Beckinsale shared a photo of one of the said eggs, his mouth fell open. “Your daughter’s boyfriend is the Easter Bunny — there’s no other way to explain this,” Kimmel joked.
Beckinsale said she “got very involved” in finding the cause of the egg mystery. “Because I really did need a distraction because everything was so horrible,” she explained.
No word yet on how or why or if the egg phenomenon is actually happening.
