Blake Lively’s legal team is not impressed with the alleged questioning from Justin Baldoni’s attorneys.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Monday, December 22, the Gossip Girl alum, 38, and her team submitted a letter to the court alleging “inappropriate and unprofessional behavior” by Baldoni’s team.
“We write to address the inappropriate and unprofessional behavior that continues to be exhibited by certain counsel for the Wayfarer Defendants during depositions, including during testimony of out-of-jurisdiction witnesses, whose depositions will serve as trial testimony,” Lively’s attorneys state in the letter. “Specifically, we write to address (1) attorneys repeatedly obstructing deposition testimony with speaking objections as well as a lack of basic decorum through insulting comments, audible cross-talk and laughter during examination.”
According to Lively’s team, Baldoni’s attorneys asked questions about their client’s sex life that — they argue — isn’t relevant to the case.
“Ms. Lively’s sexual and/or romantic history has no bearing on the matters at issue in this case and we will not tolerate such examination, which will be the subject of a protective order and sanctions motion if it happens again,” Lively’s attorneys wrote. “Should counsel for the Wayfarer Defendants continue to engage in any [of] the foregoing conduct, we will suspend the deposition at issue and promptly seek guidance from the Court and reserve all available remedies.”
Elsewhere in the letter, Lively’s team claimed several counsel for the Wayfarer Defendants “have repeatedly engaged in improper, argumentative speaking objections, and insulting comments, despite multiple warnings by counsel for Ms. Lively and other parties.”
Us has reached out to Lively and Baldoni’s team for comment on the letters.
In December 2024, Lively sued her It Ends With Us costar and director for sexual harassment. According to the suit, Baldoni’s alleged behavior caused Lively “severe emotional distress.”

The lawsuit also alleged that there was a meeting conducted to address Lively’s claims that there was a “hostile work environment” on set.
After Lively filed her lawsuit, Baldoni’s lawyer addressed the actress’ “completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious” accusations in a statement to Us, claiming that the actress filed the lawsuit to “fix her negative reputation” and “rehash a narrative” regarding the film’s production.
In January, Baldoni, 41, filed his own lawsuit against the actress. In June, however, the case was dismissed.
Although Lively’s case against Baldoni is tentatively scheduled to play out during a May 2026 trial, a judge in the case recently advised both teams to consider settling out of court.
As 2025 comes to an end, both Lively and Baldoni’s attorneys are reflecting on the legal case.
“One year ago, Blake Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department to continue to stand up for a safe workplace after the experiences she and others had on the film It Ends With Us. Over the past year, Blake has persevered against a billionaire-financed effort to try to ‘bury’ her, her family and businesses through retaliatory lawsuits and a relentless media and digital campaign,” Lively’s attorneys said in a statement to Us on Monday, December 22. “With their retaliatory lawsuits dismissed and only her claims set for trial in May, Ms. Lively is more determined than ever to shine a light on the forces that work behind the scenes to silence and discredit women who dare speak up.”
As for Baldoni’s legal team, they shared a message of gratitude for those who hope “truth” will prevail.
“My clients are deeply grateful for the support and kind words they’ve received over the past year,” Baldoni’s attorney said in a statement to Us. “We trust that the truth will ultimately prevail, and the care that so many have shown has been a meaningful source of strength during an incredibly challenging time.”
The statement continued, “At the same time, we recognize that there are many other issues affecting the world that deserve even greater attention and compassion, particularly at this time of year. We hope the focus remains on supporting those who need it most and that we continue to look out for one another this holiday season.”
