Rob Kardashian revealed if he has plans to return to The Kardashians after making a rare onscreen cameo.
During the season 7 finale of the hit Hulu series, which premiered on Thursday, December 25, Khloé Kardashian called Rob, 38, to tell him how people were “fangirling” over him briefly appearing in the trailer.
“They are swooning and freaking out,” she told Rob, who replied, “They are not fangirling.”
A producer who was off screen then asked Rob if he was “coming back for season 8.” Rob could be heard laughing on the phone before hinting at his plans.
“I would hope to be on season 8,” he said. “I definitely want to film on season 8.”
Rob originally played a large role in his family’s reality TV empire when Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered in 2007. The E! series later started to document his emotional struggles and weight gain until Rob chose to make less appearances. He made a brief reality return during his tumultuous relationship with Blac Chyna in 2016 but their series, Rob & Chyna, was canceled following their split.
Eagle-eyed fans have since caught glimpses of Rob out of the frame on The Kardashians but Rob didn’t make an official return as he continued to focus on raising his and Blac Chyna’s 8-year-old daughter, Dream.
“He’s still very private and isn’t active on social media. [He] doesn’t share a lot about his personal life,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2022. “He’s dating but is also private about that. He’s been on this amazing health and wellness journey and continues to make that his focus. He’s in good shape and is happy with how far he’s come. He’s never going to stop caring about his mental health and overall health — it’s important to him so he can be the best father to Dream.”
During an October 2023 episode of the show, Rob made a small cameo while helping mom Kris Jenner find the right woman for Scott Disick. Kris, 70, called him on screen to ask who would be the perfect girl for Scott — only for Rob to respond with a phrase that got censored out.
The season 7 premiere, meanwhile, aired in October and Rob was seen at a family celebration.
“I know everyone is hoping that Rob comes back to the show. Trust me, we are too,” Khloé, 41, explained. “Rob is doing well. He is alive.”
Khloé was excited for Rob’s appearance to address certain false rumors, adding, “The conspiracies run wild and one of them is that he lives with me and he’s in our shadows and we don’t want him around. He isn’t some miserable person that lives under a bridge. We are totally fine.”
In her own confessional, Kourtney Kardashian said she loved “having him around” while Kim Kardashian expressed hope for more onscreen appearances.
“I do miss him being on the show because he is just so funny,” she shared. “It would be great if he would regularly be back on the show. That is the goal.”
The Kardashians is streaming on Hulu.
