Love Is Blind’s Anna ‘Deeply Regretted’ Hurting Patrick With Breakup

Love Is Blind season 9 star Anna Yuan is offering an update about where she stands with Patrick Suzuki after leaving the pods.

“Hi everyone, this will probably be [my] last and only post about LiB,” Anna, 28, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, October 8. “With all of the online attention, daily DMs, hundreds of comments I have to delete daily … this isn’t the attention I wanted by agreeing to participate in the experiment.”

She added, “I tried it, [and] ultimately it didn’t work out for me and that’s OK. The only thing I cared about was hurting Patrick with how I exited the show, and I deeply regretted that.”

Anna and Patrick, 31, sparked an instantaneous connection in the Love Is Blind pods, quickly proclaiming that they were each other’s first choices to date. Despite the seemingly effortless vibes, Anna abruptly left the experiment without informing Patrick. Patrick, who later proposed to now-ex Kacie McIntosh, came face-to-face with Anna during a cast party post-pods.

During the gathering, Anna rebuffed Patrick’s advances after he revealed that he thought she was The One throughout the experiment.

“Since then, he and I have built a friendship that means a lot to me, and that’s all that matters,” Anna wrote on Wednesday. “Although, I’m grateful for this experience, this was filmed almost two years ago.”

She added, “When I left, I wanted that chapter to come to a close. Please respect that and give me and my friends and family the privacy we deserve. Much love and remember that we are real people and to be kind.”

Anna has since made her social media accounts private, deleting her Instagram message. Patrick, for his part, recently addressed the breakup during an appearance on “The Viall Files” podcast.

“One of the biggest things I look for in a relationship is resilience,” Patrick told podcast host Nick Viall on a Tuesday, October 7, episode. “When she’s yelling, especially ‘cause it’s a high pressure [and] hyper-accelerated situation. That part is just a turnoff, like, I know the pressure is really high, but I would like for you to try to fight through that if you really care about somebody.”

Patrick had been stood up by Anna in the pods, quickly deciding to pursue his connection with Kacie, 34, even more.

“Probably a few days after Anna left, it’s just Kacie and I,” Patrick recalled. “We don’t have anyone else here. [We] were slightly trauma bonding, having really good conversations. Basically, I’m just grilling her. I’m asking her [questions] to see if she really wants to get married.”

Kacie told Patrick that she was serious about finding a husband, calling the construction manager a “genuine guy” and that she could see a future together. In the end, Patrick proposed to Kacie sight unseen in the pods, and she accepted.

However, a few hours after they met in person, Kacie ended their engagement over a lack of physical attraction. They have not been in further contact, even disagreeing over who attempted to organize a meetup after filming ended.
