Heading into the middle of October, there’s a new No. 1 on Netflix‘s movie chart.
The original thriller, The Woman in Cabin 10, has clearly resonated with Netflix subscribers in the few days since its debut.
That’s why it’s Watch With Us‘ top pick among Netflix’s most popular movies, and one of the three films you need to watch now.
Our other choices for the week include a comedy and a YA franchise that landed three films in Netflix’s new top 10.
‘The Woman in Cabin 10’ (2025)
Gitte Witt plays the title character in The Woman in Cabin 10, and the mystery surrounding her drives a traumatized journalist, Laura “Lo” Blacklock (Keira Knightley), to search for answers. Lo was invited on a luxury yacht ostensibly to provide good press for the boat’s owner, Richard Bullmer (Guy Pearce) and his wife, Anne (Lisa Loven Kongsli). Lo only meets Witt’s character once before she seemingly falls off the yacht.
Much to Lo’s surprise, there are no records of a woman staying in cabin 10 and the rest of the ship’s passengers believe she’s delusional. Even her ex-boyfriend, Ben Morgan (David Ajala), isn’t sure what to believe. Regardless of what Ben thinks, Lo has inadvertently come across a sinister conspiracy, and it may get her killed.
The Woman in Cabin 10 is streaming on Netflix.
‘About My Father’ (2023)
Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco cowrote About My Father and essentially plays himself in the film. Robert De Niro costars as Maniscalco’s father, Salvo Maniscalco, and he gives off very strong Meet the Parents vibes. Except this time, De Niro’s character is the one causing his son to be embarrassed in front of his potential in-laws.
Maniscalco is very reluctant to bring his dad along for a holiday weekend trip to meet his girlfriend, Ellie (Leslie Bibb), and her parents, Trigger (Kim Cattrall) and Bill (David Rasche). No matter what Maniscalco was afraid would happen, his father has a talent for making it worse. Their father-and-son bond has been strained before, but this may be its ultimate test.
About My Father is streaming on Netflix.
‘The Maze Runner’ (2014)
Teen Wolf‘s Dylan O’Brien got his first breakout leading role in The Maze Runner, an adaptation of James Dashner‘s dystopian YA novel. O’Brien plays Thomas, a teenager whose memory is wiped prior to being sent into an isolated reserve called the Glade, which is surrounded by an ever-shifting and dangerous maze that was designed to keep them from escaping.
Thomas meets and befriends the other boys in the Glade, who have formed their own small society. He also earns the hatred of Gally (Will Poulter), a dangerously unstable member of the tribe. When a single teenage girl, Teresa (Kaya Scodelario), is sent into the Glade, all hell is going to break loose. If Thomas can’t find it within himself to become a leader, then none of the teens will make it out of the Glade alive.
The Maze Runner is streaming on Netflix.
