Next Gen NYC’s Hudson McLeroy Talks Ariana Biermann Breakup

Hudson McLeroy has broken his silence over his and Next Gen NYC costar Ariana Biermann’s breakup.

“I feel like everyone deserves to hear both sides of our story,” he wrote in a Wednesday, October 15, statement via his Instagram Stories. “I still and always will love Ariana.”

McLeroy, 23, praised Biermann, also 23, for her constant love and support pre-split.

“She’s been there for me at times when I couldn’t be there for myself,” McLeroy explained, noting, “I still have a lot of things I need to heal from and deal with on my own to become the person I truly want to be.”

He concluded, “I appreciate all of the love and support everyone is showing us during this difficult time.”

McLeroy and Biermann dated on and off since high school, going public on social media with their romance in 2018.

The pair moved to New York City together in July 2024, and their first year in the Big Apple was documented on season 1 of Next Gen NYC. The Bravo series premiered in June.

“Taking our love story to a new city :),” Biermann announced via Instagram in summer 2024 after living most of her life in Atlanta with Real Housewives of Atlanta star and mom Kim Zolciak and ex-stepfather Kroy Biermann.

Ariana shared a kissing photo with McLeroy at the time, adding, “We officially live in New York!!!! thank you god for making this possible and allowing me to live my dream [with] my best friend <3.”

Throughout season 1 of Next Gen NYC, Arianna and McLeroy worked together to find the perfect place to live and start her clothing line. After the season premiere, Ariana and McLeroy celebrated their one-year anniversary of living in the city by moving to a different apartment.

In August, Ariana documented a date to Le Café Louis Vuitton NYC with McLeroy as one of the last public postings from their relationship.

McLeroy, meanwhile, gushed about his then-girlfriend that same month in his own social media post. “I’m so beyond proud watching you become the person I always knew you were,” he wrote via Instagram on August 4. “You deserve every bit of it baby❤️.”

Ariana replied in the comments section, “I love you so much!!!!”

Zolciak, meanwhile, showed how far back Ariana’s love for McLeroy went during an August appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

“I found a little tweet that she had — a message on Twitter that she sent me — and she said, ‘Mom, I just love Hudson, I’m going to wait for him,’” Zolciak, 47, recalled to host Andy Cohen. ”She was 17. I sent her a screenshot of it! I was like, ‘Ariana, do you remember this? This is crazy.’”

Two months later, Ariana announced their split, writing via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, October 14, “Hudson and I have decided to go our separate ways.”

“While these things are never easy, we both know it’s what’s best for us right now,” she shared. “We are so grateful for all the love and support you’ve shown us over the years.”

While Ariana didn’t give exact details as to why they called it quits, she wrote, “Sometimes, life takes you in different directions and that’s OK.”
