Bijou Phillips is adjusting to her new normal.
Two years after divorcing her disgraced ex-husband, Danny Masterson, Phillips, 45, “wants to separate herself from everything that’s happened and build a peaceful, stable life for [their 11-year-old daughter] Fianna,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.
Masterson, 49, was charged in June 2020 with forcibly raping three women between 2001 and 2003, which he denied. Following a November 2022 mistrial, the That ’70s Show alum’s retrial ended in a conviction of two of the three counts against him in May 2023.
Masterson, who did not testify during either trial, was sentenced in September 2023 to 30 years to life in prison. Later that month, Phillips filed for divorce from the Ranch alum after nearly 12 years of marriage and obtained full custody of Fianna.

“This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family,” the Almost Famous actress’ lawyer Lauzon Paluch said in a statement at the time. “Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter.”
A judge declared the exes legally single on October 24, the same day that Phillips requested to change Fianna’s last name from Masterson to Phillips, which has yet to be approved.
“Bijou’s main focus is her daughter,” the source tells Us. “Bijou is extremely protective of her. Bijou doesn’t want her to grow up feeling defined by her dad’s past or have other kids label her because of it. It’s been a hard few years for all of them.”
As she navigates her next chapter, the insider shares that Phillips is “still living” on the family’s farm in Santa Ynez, California, “away from the noise in Los Angeles and has built a nice community out there.”

“Her friends and family are still in Bel Air and in the city, so she will come in from time to time to catch up with her closest circle and also frequents New York often,” the source adds.
Us Weekly has reached out to Phillips’ attorney for comment.
During Phillips’ divorce from Masterson, Us exclusively reported in June 2024 that she had moved on with RE/DONE cofounder Jamie Mazur, who shares two children, 17-year-old daughter Anja and 13-year-old son Noah, with his ex-fiancée, former Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio.
“Jamie is a great guy and has been there for [Phillips] through this difficult time,” a source close to Mazur said at the time.

Later that month, Phillips and Mazur, 44, went public with their romance at a Pride Month event in New York City, where an eyewitness told Us they “looked like an adorable couple.”
Masterson, meanwhile, continues to fight his conviction from behind bars. His legal team filed an appeal in December 2024, arguing that his retrial was “rife with erroneous judicial rulings that skewed the jury’s view of the evidence against him” and that “there was a stunning amount of exculpatory evidence which was never presented to the jury.”
