Halloween was clearly “golden” for so many celebrity kids — especially those who insisted on dressing as Rumi from K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Netflix’s hit animated movie K-Pop Demon Hunters premiered in August, starring pop stars Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong) and Zoey (Rei Ami) who moonlight as demon hunters, protecting the world from supernatural danger lurking in the shadows. The action, of course, is set to catchy K-pop hits like “Golden” and “Soda Pop.”
Given the success of K-Pop Demon Hunters, it should come as no surprise that Rumi was one of the most popular 2025 Halloween costumes. So the kids could shine, many of their parents leapt into action to procure replica outfits — down to the lengthy purple braid.
“Spent way longer than I thought it would take last night making these Rumi braids,” Dancing With the Stars alum Lindsay Arnold wrote via her Instagram Stories, noting she bought and braided lavender hair extensions from Amazon and later clipped them into her two daughters’ blonde locks. “Let me just say, it was worth it!”
Arnold and her husband, Sam Cusick, share daughters Sage and June, who knew exactly how the braid should be styled.
“I can’t believe it’s on my head,” Sage marveled in the social media video, while Arnold expertly handled the ‘do. “First, do three ponytails and flip up high. After you do three ponytails, slick the hair down in the back and then [add] the hair to it, put it in her face and make her hold it somewhere. Then, we put it back.”
After Sage’s braid was securely in place, Arnold knotted a matching one for June. The Cusick girls were not the only celebrity kids who rocked as Rumi on Halloween. Keep scrolling for more:
Carly Waddell
The former Bachelor in Paradise star also braided daughter Bella’s hair for All Hallow’s Eve. (Waddell shares Bella and son Charlie with ex-husband Evan Bass.)
“There’s gonna be a lot of hair. I think I bought too many,” Waddell said in an Instagram Story video of the purple extensions she purchased, later shouting out nanny Sam Sardina for “saving the day” with the styling process.
Lindsay Arnold
“I cannot handle these two,” Arnold wrote via her Instagram Stories. “They were so excited about their hair, and it made me so happy. [Sage] was so excited to show her friends!”
James Van Der Beek
The Dawson’s Creek alum’s daughter Gwendolyn also went as Rumi, instead opting for a full purple wig over her own naturally blonde tresses.
“Happy Halloween,” James’ wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, captioned an Instagram pic of their family’s costumes before going trick-or-treating via golf cart.
Mayci Neeley
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star’s husband, Jacob Neeley, was in full girl dad mode when it came to getting daughter Harlow dressed for Halloween.
“Rumi is ready for Halloween,” he captioned an Instagram video of himself assembling a toy sword and putting on Harlow’s lilac wig.
Of course, a viewing of K-Pop Demon Hunters was in order before going trick-or-treating with the family. (Mayci is also mom to son Hudson from a past relationship and shares newborn daughter Charlie with Jacob.)
Camilla Luddington
The Grey’s Anatomy star and husband Matthew Alan‘s daughter, Hayden, dressed up as Rumi, too, though without a synthetic wig atop her naturally red locks. Instead, Luddington masterfully braided her daughter’s own tresses.
Jamie Lynn Spears
Spears’ youngest daughter, Ivey, whom she shares with husband Jamie Watson, also enjoyed a very “Golden” Halloween as Rumi.
