Sean “Diddy” Combs’ eventual release date from prison has been postponed.
While Diddy was initially set to be released May 8, 2028, he will now be eligible for release June 4, 2028, per the Bureau of Prisons website. Page Six was first to report the news on Wednesday, November 11.
While it has not been confirmed why Diddy’s release was pushed back, he was recently accused of breaking multiple rules, including consuming alcohol and participating in a three-way phone call.
A rep for Diddy, however, denied the allegations.

“The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false,” read a Friday, November 7, statement shared via social media. “His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”
A separate spokesperson for Diddy, who is a father of seven, said in a separate statement to People that the disgraced music mogul has “not violated any prison rules.”
“His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously,” the rep said. “This is only his first week at FCI Fort Dix, and unfortunately, rumors will surface throughout his time there. We ask the public and the press to give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth and the grace to move forward in peace.”
Diddy is currently incarcerated at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey, where he was transferred last month following his October 3 sentencing. He had been convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and was sentenced to four years behind bars. (The 13 months he spent at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center before his transfer to Fort Dix will count toward his sentence.)

Diddy was also fined $500,000 and ordered to five years of supervised release after his jail sentence is up.
“Both the guidelines calculation and the sentence took account of conduct for which Mr. Combs was acquitted by a jury,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo claimed to The New York Post last month. “We contend this amounts to legal error.”
Diddy was arrested in September 2024 for sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He vehemently denied the allegations and was eventually acquitted on the racketeering and trafficking charges.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Agnifilo told Us Weekly in a statement upon the rapper’s arrest. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children and working to uplift the Black community.”
