Adam Sandler enjoyed a proud dad moment when daughter Sunny Sandler took the stage at his recent comedy show.
Sunny, 16, performed during Adam’s You’re My Best Friend Tour stop at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Sunday, October 5, singing a cover of Gabby Barrett’s 2020 hit “I Hope.” Adam, 59, accompanied his daughter on guitar as she sang the country tune. The Happy Gilmore 2 star, who wore red track pants and a Hawaiian shirt, kept a smile on his face as he nodded along and watched in awe, per viral footage shared via TikTok on Tuesday, October 7.
The audience could be heard erupting in cheers for Sunny, who was dressed in jeans and a white and green short-sleeved T-shirt, as she sang the chorus.
Fans in the comments section of the video were equally supportive of the teen.
“He is raising Nepo babies with actual talent and deserving of what they have. Good for them 👏👏,” one user said of Adam, who also shares daughter Sadie, 19, with wife Jackie Sandler.
“Looks like her mama, and sings like her daddy,” another fan commented.
Sunny has long had a passion for singing, which Adam has supported through his comedy career. Back in 2019, Sunny joined her father on stage during one of his shows to perform “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman. She earned a standing ovation from the crowd.
Months later, in October, both Sunny and Sadie joined Adam at a charity event to sing a cover of Taylor Swift‘s “Lover.” Adam said at the time that it was one of his daughters’ “favorite songs,” making the moment even more special.
“They were dying to be a part of it,” Adam said after the performance. “Girls, you did great! Sounded awesome — confident and cool. I love you, now get out of here.”
In addition to singing, both of the Sandler girls have been acting for years. Sadie made her film debut as a toddler in the 2008 comedy You Don’t Mess With the Zohan, while Sunny made hers two years later alongside her older sister in Grown Ups.
Since then, both Sadie and Sunny have appeared in Hubie Halloween, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah and Happy Gilmore 2 alongside their dad.
Adam gushed about working with his daughters in a July interview with USA Today.
“It is just all happening fast. Kids are growing up − they really are into acting and movies, and it’s always been our thing to work with our friends and family,” he said. “It’s cool to see them getting better. They work hard and they go to school for it, and they love it. So, yeah, I’m just proud. Couldn’t love them more.”
That same month, he told E! News about how proud he was of Sadie and Sunny for following their dreams.
“Oh, my god, you’re just relieved. Once they do it well, nothing feels better as a parent,” Adam said. “It must be like when you’re the parents of a baseball player and you’re at the game and they get a hit. You just go, ‘Thank God.’ It’s just so much relief.”
