Chiefs Heiress Gracie Hunt Questions Christians Who Celebrate Halloween

Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, raised a question about the intersection of religion and Halloween celebrations.

“Curious what everyone’s perspective on Halloween is 👀,” Gracie, 26, shared via her Instagram Story on Monday, October 20. “Christian and non-Christian friends — I’d love to hear your thoughts!”

Gracie’s question came alongside a picture of a Halloween-themed yard sign posted by her mother, Tavia Hunt, which read: “Life is scary without Jesus.”

“@taviahunt is winning Halloween 😂 🎃,” Gracie wrote.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ first preseason game of the 2025-2026 NFL season served as yet another chance for Gracie Hunt to slay her sideline style. “CHIEFS FOOTBALL IS BACK! 🎊❤️💛,” Hunt, 26, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, August 9. “Grateful for a new season, the chance to chase dreams, and the beautiful game that brings […]

The Chiefs heiress received a wide array of responses to her query, some of which she shared on her Story.

“My husband and I are Christians. We feel as if passing out candy is okay. No demonic decor,” one response read.

Another follower commented, “We shouldn’t participate in celebrating a holiday that glorifies darkness.”

“Ain’t no ghost like the Holy Ghost,” another person wrote.

But not everybody in Gracie’s comments shared the same anti-Halloween opinion.

“Halloween is a fun, innocent celebration,” one comment read. “Good Christians everywhere should celebrate it!”

Another wrote, “It’s just a holiday for the kids to dress up to what their little hearts desire and get candy :).”

Gracie responded to the feedback by sharing two Bible verses and writing, “No matter which side of the conversation you fall on, I think that this is what matters most 🧡.”

The oldest child of Clark, 60, and Tavia, 54 — the couple also shares son Knobel, 23, and daughter Ava, 20 — Gracie has made her Christian values an integral part of her Chiefs’ game days.

Gracie routinely posts a game day scripture and prayer via Instagram for every game, and is a regular attendee at the Chiefs’ Faith and Family Chapel, a non-denominational worship service held before noon home games at Arrowhead Stadium.

“I grew up with parents who just set the most incredible examples of faith and that started just forming me from childhood on,” Gracie told K-LOVE in February. “My dad brought the Faith and Family Chapel to game days 10 years ago.”

Gracie even leaned into religion after the Chiefs’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in February’s Super Bowl LIX.

“Praise Him when you win. Praise Him when you lose. 💔 ,” Gracie wrote via Instagram. “It wasn’t the result we were hoping for, but so proud of this team’s heart and the incredible season we had. Thank you to our sweet friends and family who came to support this weekend and stayed through the post game reception. Thank you to every person in the Chiefs organization for going above and beyond in all you do—we love you like family.”

She added, “Thank you to the incredible fans who bleed red with us. You all are the heartbeat of Chiefs Kingdom and are truly the best fans in the NFL. We’ll be back Chiefs Kingdom.”

Gracie has been spending game days this season with her boyfriend, Derek Green, who she went public with in May.

Last month, Gracie gave a glimpse into the couple’s busy lives, which included a trip to Brazil to see the Chiefs kick off the 2025 campaign against the Los Angeles Chargers.

“A September to remember 📸✈️🌎❤️,” Gracie wrote via Instagram. “Between moving, a game in Brazil, work, and endless weeks of travel and packing, life has been full and busy. But being busy is both a blessing and a choice — and I’m so grateful for it all. Most of all, I’m thankful for the incredible people I get to work with, share life with, and for this beautiful community that makes the journey so meaningful. 🫶🏼”
