Influencer Ivonne Enriquez Ramirez has died days after she was involved in a car accident. She was 20.

“With deeply broken hearts, we share the painful passing of my beloved little sister Sweet Ivonne Enriquez Ramirez,” Ramirez’s sister Michel wrote in a statement to Facebook on Monday, January 19. “As a family, this moment breaks our souls. It’s an immense pain, difficult to describe and even harder to accept. Nothing prepares us for a loss like this.”

The statement continued, “We want to wholeheartedly thank each person who lifted up a prayer, sent a message, a word of encouragement, or accompanied us with love during this very difficult time. Every show of love, every thought and every prayer reached us and held us up when we had no strength anymore.”

The message noted that Ramirez — who had more than 122,000 Instagram followers — left an “indelible mark” on their lives and hearts, adding that her memory will “live on forever in us.”

Mexican newspaper Milenio reported that Enriquez was traveling around 8 a.m. on January 9 from the celebration of the town’s 487th anniversary with the mayor of the southern Mexican town Santa María Huatulco, Julio César Cárdenas Ortega.

A separate outlet, Spanish newspaper 20 Minutos, reported that the vehicle overturned and fell into a ravine that was about 164 feet deep.

After the incident, Ortega released a statement sharing that he had been involved in an accident but was “stable and out of danger.”

Michel shared on January 10 that the influencer was “alive and under medical care.”

After news broke of Ramirez’s death, Ortega shared his “most sincere condolences” to her friends and family in a statement shared to Instagram on Monday, offering “solidarity in this moment of grief.”

Michel shared on Wednesday, January 20, that the influencer’s family would be holding a mass on Thursday, January 21.

“All those who cherished her and wish to join us will be welcome to watch and bid her farewell with love, join us in prayer and surround her with affection at this very painful time for our family,” the Facebook statement read, translated to English. “Your presence, your prayers and your closeness mean a lot to us.”
