Davidson, meanwhile, added, “Wu tang forever,” as his first message as a father, according to Hewitt.

A source shared with Us Weekly that the couple named their daughter Scottie after Davidson’s dad, Scott Matthew Davidson.

Scott died on September 11, 2001, when he was serving as a firefighter in New York. Pete was 7 years old at the time.

“My dad told me he was going to pick me up from school on 9/11. I got picked up by my mom,” he recalled in a March 2023 episode of the “Real Ones” podcast. “She didn’t tell me what was going on for, like, three days.”

In the months before Hewitt gave birth, Pete expressed how thrilled he was to become a dad sooner rather than later.

“I’m stoked. I can’t wait. Let’s go,” he said on the August 6 episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers. “I’m so excited. I’ve never been more excited for anything.”

Several days after Hewitt announced she was pregnant, Pete also told Entertainment Tonight that “it’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid” to be a dad.

Us confirmed in March that Davidson and Hewitt were dating after they were spotted getting cozy in Palm Beach, Florida, that same month.

It wasn’t until November when fans learned more about the couple’s very first date.

“When we went on our first date, we went out for dinner for the first time, I was like, ‘Don’t think I’m crazy, but I just know that you’re going to be the father of my children,’” Hewitt recalled during the pair’s Bumble Instagram Stories takeover November 18. “And look at us now! On July 16, Hewitt surprised fans when she announced she was pregnant.

“Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” she wrote via Instagram at the time with a sonogram picture.

Pete later admitted that he felt guilty in regards to Hewitt’s pregnancy reveal.

“I feel bad for my girl because I bring a lot of s***,” he explained during the August 13 episode of The Breakfast Club, referring to his level of fame. “Anything I do or she does now is gonna be a thing. She’s a very private person and she’s the one doing all the work. [She] never made me feel this way or said anything, but I feel so guilty and horrible that I could not allow her to have the ideal pregnancy that almost every woman gets to have and enjoy.”
