OnlyFans’ Skylar Mae Says She Works ‘Harder’ Than a ‘Basic’ 9-5 Employee

OnlyFans star Skylar Mae isn’t here for critics who think her job is “easy” — in fact, she thinks she works harder than the average employee.

“I would say, yes, I work harder than the average 9 to 5 person,” Skylar, 21, exclusively told Us Weekly. “I’m not saying the big CEOs that run huge companies. There’s people that work just as hard, if not harder, that own huge companies. But basic 9 to 5 people? Yes, I definitely work harder than them.”

From Skylar’s perspective, those outside of the adult content industry have shorter working hours, especially because she tends to work throughout the day with no set schedule.

“My hours are definitely longer,” she said. “Because of the fact that I get to work from home, I might have it a little bit easier. But I wake up earlier than most people that I know that work 9 to 5s, and then I’m working even later into the night. Even later into the night, my work never really shuts off. It never just stops, like it’s a constant wheel of work.”

On a typical day, Skylar wakes up around 4:30 a.m. to “do a little bit of day trading” — Skylar told Us that she dabbles in trading stocks — before talking to her clients and editing content. By 6:30 a.m., Skylar is out of bed and heading to the gym before she’s back to editing, filming and creating content — and wraps up around 10 p.m.

“Then I’ll just sit and message back and forth with clients until I fall asleep and then start over again the next day,” she said. “My days are pretty jam packed, for sure.”

This routine, she said, is consistent on the weekends. The only difference is she will enjoy a few hours watching sports games and spending “chill” time with her family.

“That’s honestly my time off — dedicating it to seeing my family, because I’m super close with them,” she shared. “I do work a lot.”

As she navigates balancing her personal life and OnlyFans, Skylar — who has amassed more than 4.7 million Instagram followers — explained that she typically logs in on holidays too.

Courtesy of Sophie Rain/Instagram Sophie Rain isn’t ashamed to be an OnlyFans model — and she sees no conflict between her line of work and her devout Christianity. Rain, 20, grew up attending church every Sunday and her faith remains a significant part of her life. “The Lord’s very forgiving, and he put me on […]

“In the industry that I’m in, a lot of people have off of work so they are relying on their creators that they follow to produce Christmas content, Thanksgiving content, Halloween content,” she said. “I remember my first Christmas ever doing this, I was like, ‘Oh, Christmas, I don’t need to work.’ No. I was still doing the same things. People want to see you post, they want to talk to you. They want to send you stuff as a Christmas present. … But I’ll definitely take a few hours more than normal to hang out with my family. I don’t abandon my family, but definitely still do work on the holidays.”

Skylar said the same goes with her birthday, where fans will message her, send her gifts and ask about her plans.

“It’s a lot of upkeep, and you don’t necessarily have to. There’s no bible of OnlyFans that you have to do this. I just honestly choose to because I see the success that I have created for myself by sticking to what I do,” she explained. “So if I do start to get lazy, it shows, obviously in my numbers. So I never really let myself take some time off. I’m always working.”

For those who think her job is all “glitz and glam,” Skylar noted that it’s not the easiest gig in the world.

“From the outside, I could see how they’re like, ‘Oh, she just is at home all day, and she’s just taking some pictures, and she’s good to go. She’s making all this money.’ That’s not the case,” Skylar said. “Come spend some time with me, and you’ll see there’s no rest.”
