Pete Davidson is sharing a glimpse into his tattoo removal journey.
Davidson, 32, held newborn daughter Scottie in a Sunday, December 21, Instagram photo shared by his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, while the father-daughter duo did skin-to-skin. Under the parenting methodology, many moms and dads hold their infants to their bare chests to foster a bond, as well as to regulate the baby’s body temperature and breathing.
As Davidson cradled baby Scottie, fans noticed how his once-colorful tattoos have since started to fade following the various removal sessions.
The Saturday Night Live alum confirmed earlier this year that he wants to get rid of most of his ink.

“I’ve been burning them off,” Davidson said on a January episode of the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “They’re almost all gone. It’s horrible. They [have] to burn off a layer of skin and then it has to heal for, like, six to eight weeks and you can’t get in the sunlight and then you got to do it, like, 12 more times.”
While Davidson once had around 200 tattoos, he slowly started the removal process in 2021.
“It was a weird time. I don’t know, everyone was getting tattoos, like, five years ago. Post Malone was like, ‘Always tired,’ and I was like, ‘Me too, dude, I’m always tired,’” the comedian said, revealing he’ll only keep a handful of tattoos. “I’m trying to clean slate it [and] trying to be an adult.”
Davidson later told Us Weekly that the pain — not to mention the expensive cost of the procedures — is worth it.
“It’s a lot, and it’s super worth it for me because I don’t like my tattoos, and I am a different person than I was when I got them,” he exclusively told Us in October. “When I see myself in the mirror, I just see like, you know, poor decision making and I wasn’t there yet as an adult.”
According to Davidson, he was only 30 percent done with the process.
“It’s a long game. Anyone who’s interested in doing it, just know that it’s gonna take a long time,” Davidson told Us. “That’s a hard thing, especially for a guy like me who does comedy. Comedy is instant gratification, right? You tell a joke [and know] if it’s funny right away. But if you wanna do it, it’s really worth it. And my arms are almost fully clear, and I can wear a T-shirt. It’s nice.”
In addition to getting rid of his tattoos, Davidson revealed how he has been focused on self-improvement.

“I’ve been working on myself personally and my mental health, and I think it’s showing,” he told Us. “You can see it, and people are seeing that. So the overall kind of vibe has been really positive lately.”
Amid his personal strides, Davidson started dating Hewitt, 29, in March. They welcomed daughter Scottie, named for the actor’s late father, on December 12.
“They are obsessed with their baby girl and over the moon,” a source exclusively told Us of Davidson and Hewitt’s first week as parents. “They have had their hands full and are still figuring out the parenting thing day by day. Pete is ecstatic to officially be a dad and has had a smile on his face since she was born. He was emotional when she arrived.”
