Prince Andrew is reportedly being investigated as he continues to make headlines for his longstanding relationship with the late convicted pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.
Several outlets reported on Sunday, October 19, that Andrew, 65, is being investigated for allegedly asking his taxpayer-funded security detail to uncover information about his late accuser, Virginia Giuffre, in the hours preceding the 2011 release of the infamous photo showing the royal alongside a then-underage Giuffre.
Emails allegedly exchanged between Andrew and a member of his security team seem to suggest that Andrew shared Giuffre’s social security number and date of birth.
On Sunday, the Mail also released emails allegedly sent between Andrew and Queen Elizabeth’s then-deputy press secretary Ed Perkins, in which the former Duke of York said he’d asked one of his security officers to uncover information about Giuffre. The Guardian reported Sunday that it does not appear the officer ever followed through with the request.

Giuffre, who publicly accused Andrew of sexually assaulting her when she was a teenager in a 2021 lawsuit, died by suicide in April 2025. Andrew has continuously denied the allegations. Prior to her death, Giuffre settled the lawsuit out of court with Andrew for an undisclosed amount of money.
“Giuffre lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking,” her family said via a statement on April 25. “Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors. Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright. She will be missed beyond measure. The light of her life were her children Christian, Noah, and Emily.”

“It was when she held her newborn daughter in her arms that Virginia realized she had to fight back against those who had abused her and so many others,” the statement continued. “There are no words that can express the grave loss we feel today with the passing of our sweet Virginia. She was heroic and will always be remembered for her incredible courage and loving spirit. In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight. We know that she is with the angels.”
On Sunday, the Times of London reported Prince William will ban his uncle from “all elements of royal life,” including private family gatherings, when he takes over the throne.
“When William is King, Andrew will be banned from all elements of royal life,” the outlet noted, per sources from inside Buckingham Palace. “He will be excluded from public and private royal events, including the coronation, and banned from most state occasions.”
Andrew announced Friday he will no longer use his royal titles amid an ongoing look at his friendship with Epstein.
“In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” Andrew said in a statement to Us on Friday. “I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.”

The statement continued, “With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honors which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
