Taylor Swift had another landmark year in 2025, making major strides in both her professional and personal life.
The pop superstar, 36, started out her year by taking a step back from the spotlight after wrapping her record-breaking Eras Tour in December 2024. However, once she returned from her much-needed break, she rightfully dominated the pop culture discourse yet again, delighting fans when she reclaimed her masters, announced her engagement to fiancé Travis Kelce and released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
In December, Swift reflected on her exciting accomplishments in 2025.
“That’s a good year,” she acknowledged on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “Getting engaged to the love of my life, getting all my music back — those were two things that just never could have happened. They could have just never happened. It wasn’t like, ‘It’s just a matter of time.’ Both of those things could have just never arrived in my life, and I’m so grateful for both of those things happening.”

Taylor Swift Celebrates Travis Kelce’s AFC Championship Win
Swift joined Kelce, 36, on the field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, to celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs’ AFC Championship victory over the Buffalo Bills in January. The couple kissed and hugged amid a crowd of NFL stars, family and friends as the Chiefs advanced to Super Bowl LIX. (Swift was in the stands to support Kelce at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome in February when the Chiefs ultimately lost the 2025 Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles.)
Taylor Swift’s Night at the Grammy Awards
Swift had the time of her life at the 2025 Grammy Awards in February. She captured attention in a one-shoulder red sequin Vivienne Westwood minidress with a slit that showed off her Lorraine Schwartz thigh chain with its red initial “T” and ruby heart stones. She completed her look with more Lorraine Schwartz jewels, red Casadei heels, her beloved red lip and glamorous waves.
Although Swift didn’t take home any new trophies, the 14-time Grammy winner had plenty of fun presenting Beyoncé with Best Country Album, cheering on her friends and dancing the night away in the audience.
Taylor Swift Reclaims Her Masters
After the masters of her first six albums were sold out from under her in 2019, prompting her to launch her “Taylor’s Version” rerecord campaign, Swift announced in May that she finally owns the original versions of 2006’s Taylor Swift, 2008’s Fearless, 2010’s Speak Now, 2012’s Red, 2014’s 1989 and 2017’s Reputation.
“I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I’ve ever made … now belongs … to me,” she wrote in a letter on her website. “And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era. My entire life’s work.”
In an accompanying Instagram post, Swift posed with her first six albums, writing, “You belong with me.”
Taylor Swift’s ‘New Heights’ Debut
Two years after Kelce’s “New Heights” shout-out to Swift jump-started their romance, she appeared on the podcast for the first time in August.
“This podcast has done a lot for me,” she said at the time. “This podcast got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app two years ago.”
The episode made headlines for countless reasons, offering fans an unprecedented glimpse of Swift and Kelce’s relationship, revealing her newfound obsession with sourdough and concluding with the announcement of her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Taylor Swift’s Engagement to Travis Kelce
In August, Swift and Kelce confirmed their engagement after two years of dating.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the pair captioned a joint Instagram post featuring photos of the proposal and her old mine brilliant cut diamond ring designed by Kindred Lubeck.
Swift shared during her October appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that Kelce popped the question shortly after they recorded her “New Heights” debut, noting that he had “blackout drapes on every single window of the whole house” during her interview. Afterward, he invited her to “walk around the backyard” of his home and “have a glass of wine,” where he got down on one knee in his garden filled with lavish flower arrangements.
Taylor Swift’s ‘Life of a Showgirl’ Album
Swift released her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, in October. Produced by Swift, Max Martin and Shellback, the project featured 12 new songs, including the No. 1 single “The Fate of Ophelia.” Swift revealed on “New Heights” that she recorded The Life of a Showgirl during the European leg of her Eras Tour in the summer of 2024.
“This album was about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour,” she explained, “which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.”
The Life of a Showgirl broke numerous records, becoming the best-selling album of 2025, debuting atop the Billboard 200 albums chart and achieving the most album sales of all time in a single week. Swift’s Official Release Party of a Showgirl film — which showed the making of the “Fate of Ophelia” music video and lyric videos for the other 11 songs on the album — also premiered at No. 1 at the box office.
Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Docuseries
Swift looked back on The Eras Tour in her six-episode Disney+ docuseries, The End of an Era, which aired across three weeks in December. Each installment gave fans a behind-the-scenes view of the massive production, from Swift’s day-to-day to the preparations and personal stories of her crew.
To coincide with the premiere of the docuseries, Swift also released Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show on Disney+ in December. The concert film of her last Eras Tour performance in Vancouver included the first official recording of the Tortured Poets Department set.
